Mey Lean Kronemann (Berlin): lumiBots

The »lumiBots« are small, autonomous robots that react to light. They can paint luminous traces on a glow-in-the-dark mat with a UV LED at their bottom. The lines slowly fade away, so that older, darker trails are visible next to newer, brighter ones. The lines not only create fascinating and consistently changing generative images but also have a deeper meaning for the robots: They can follow the lines of the other robots as well as their own lines, whilst preferring and thus amplifying paths that are brighter (newer) and broader (used more often).
