Die Mitmach-Installation »Kardiometron« stellt eine Verbindung zwischen dem menschlichen Herzschlag und dem Metronom her: Der Herzschlag der Betrachter*innen wird über Puls-Sensoren auf Metronome übertragen und als Pendelschlag wiedergegeben. Die komplexen Rhythmen, die im Zusammenspiel der Pendelschläge entstehen, werden akustisch und visuell wahrnehmbar. Jeweils zwei Personen können auf diese Weise über ihren Herzschlag miteinander in Kontakt treten.

“Kardiometron” is a participatory installation. Two people at a time can take a seat face to face and put their hand on one of the marked spots on the table top, or rather their finger on one of the integrated pulse sensors. After their pulse is being measured for a few seconds the metronome on the respective side of the table is starting to adjust its speed towards the tempo of the measured pulse. The participants set the pace for a pace-setting apparat. The diversity of the measured pulses causes polymeric structures to be created. Those can be perceived acoustically and visually in the interplay with the strokes of the pendulums.
