Weisses Rauschen im Strassenverkehr

Davide Tidoni (IT): Am Rand der Bgm. Ackermann-Straße erklingt über einen Lautsprecher weißes Rauschen, ein stark höhenbetontes Geräusch. Die Zuhörer*innen befinden sich gegenüber auf der anderen Straßenseite. Jedes Auto, das sich zwischen dem Lautsprecher und den Gästen bewegt, unterbricht den Klang. Das Rauschen wird außerdem ergänzt durch Motoren- und Bremsgeräusche. Je nach Verkehrsaufkommen, Geschwindigkeit, Anzahl und Größe der Autos, entwickelt sich eine ortsspezifische Komposition. 

WHITE NOISE IN THE CITY

DAVIDE TIDONI (IT): A loudspeaker that is projecting white noise is installed on the side of a straight road. The loudspeaker is positioned in such a way that the projection of white noise is perpendicular to the direction of the cars. The listener stands opposite to the loudspeaker on the other side of the road. When a car drives on the road, it intersects the projection of white noise. In this way the listener can perceive a cut in the white noise continuum. The sequence of cuts is organized in relation to the quantity, speed and size of cars that pass on the road.
