STEFAN TIEFENGRABER (LINZ, AT): In der kinetischen Installation »DSD-08AS – Tehran to …« treffen mechanisch erzeugte Klänge auf Tonbänder in Kassettenrekordern. Die Einzelteile bilden ein System, das sich durch den elektrischen Kontakt zwischen Schiene, Metallkugel und Magnetspulen selbst auslöst und steuert. Die Tonaufnahmen für diese Installation sind im Iran in den vier großen Bus-Stationen der Hauptstadt Teheran entstanden.

STEFAN TIEFENGRABER (LINZ, AT): ‘DSD-08AS– Tehran to…’ is an electromechanical kinetic-sound installation. Five modules - each consists of two solenoids, a metal rail, a metal ball and two tape recorders - are building a self triggering system where the metal ball functions as conductor between the rail and the solenoids. The sounds on the looped tapes are recordings the artist made in Iran in the four main bus stations of Tehran.
