Banana boxes have already traveled a long way by the time they come to us. In their original destination, mostly from Central America. Sending them back to their starting point and using them a second time seems logistically ineffective, so they stay in their destination waiting for new use. A profane object that carries on its message of exoticism and globalization. From 120 of these boxes, the sound artist noid builds a walk-in auditory sculpture, making the standard size as well as the actually impractical holes of the boxes his own.
Bananenkisten sind, wenn sie zu uns kommen, schon weit gereist. In ihrer ursprünglichen Bestimmung, meist aus Mittelamerika. Sie an ihren Ausgangspunkt zurückzuschicken, und ein zweites Mal zu verwenden, erscheint logistisch ineffektiv, so bleiben sie an ihrem Bestimmungsort und warten auf neue Verwendung. Ein profanisierter Gegenstand, der seine Botschaft von Exotik und Globalisierung weiter transportiert. Aus 120 dieser Kisten baut der Klangkünstler noid eine begehbare Hörskulptur und macht sich dabei die Normgröße wie auch die eigentlich unpraktischen Löcher der Kisten zu eigen.
