L.O.L.B. steht für »Longevity of light bulbs«, also die Langlebigkeit der Glühbirnen. Im Mittelpunkt der Performance steht nicht das Leuchtmittel selbst, sondern eine handelsübliche Schreibtischlampe, die - mit Mikrofonen ausgestattet - zum dynamischen Klangobjekt wird.
Als bewegliche Partnerin des Performers nimmt sie gar die Züge einer seltsamen Kreatur an, die ins Publikum blickt und es durchleuchtet. Da geht manchen sicherlich ein Licht auf!

STEFANO D’ALESSIO (Vienna, AT): L.O.L.B. is a sound piece for amplified desk lamp. The lamp turns in to an instrument, its movements are used to amplify the player’s physical performance and to manipulate the original sound thanks to a custom made interface and digital audion processing. The lamp also acts as a dynamic light source, focussing and “watching” its surroundings and the audience, behaving like a curious creature.
